Mary Marceline Nickum

Mary Marceline McCauley Nickum, 75 of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 1:22pm at her home. Mary’s Service will be held on Saturday, December 10,2016 at 11:30am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bloomington with Father Joseph Baker officiating. Following the service Entombment will be held at East Lawn Mausoleum, Bloomington. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 5-8pm at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington with the Rosary recited at 8pm. Memorials may be made to Withers Trust Fund in care of Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, Illinois is in charge of arrangements. Mary was born on October 17, 1941 in Raywick, Kentucky, the daughter of John L. and Melvina Galloway McCauley. She married Joseph Walter Nickum on April 8, 1967 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1992. Mary is survived by her children; Scott Nickum of Bloomington, Greg Nickum of Lisle, IL and Paulette Michele Svenson of Normal. Also surviving are her 3 grandchildren; Megan, Blake and Sam Svensson and her brother; Tom McCauley of Louisville, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents and 13 brothers and sisters; Joseph Galloway McCauley, Katherine Pauline Mattingly, William Howard McCauley, James Bernard McCauley, Gloria Mae McCauley, John Lambert McCauley, Chester Harold McCauley, Richard Lee McCauley, Judy Favreau, Rita Mattingly, Margaret Galloway, Robert Edward McCauley and Ronnie McCauley.

She is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Bloomington and worked at the Cozy Corner, Modine Manufacturing, Nestle Beich Candy Company and Eureka Williams. She was a fan of The Chicago Cubs. She was so excited in 2016 when the Cubs won the series. She loved to play cards with her friends, and visit. Many good times were had playing cards with Marcie. She loved her church friends who would stop by to say hello from time to time. She knew her neighbors and enjoyed feeding the neighborhood squirrels. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
